"The 1000 Best Short Games of Chess" by Irving Chernev. Published in hardback by Hodder and Stoughton in 1957. First UK Edition. 555pp. Betts 24-80. The book is in Good Plus condition. The internal pages are very clean and unmarked. The volume appears to be inscription and annotation free. The book boards are clean and the binding good, with no shelf lean. There is no foxing present. The page edge block has tanned a little, from age only. This dustjacket is in Good condition. It has had small, neat repairs done to the head and tail of the spine area and also suffers from some scuffing and dulling to the original jacket colouring. The rear panel has browned to the extremities. Games are in English descriptive notation. Quite a scarce book in its dustjacket. Further scanned images are available on request. Heavy! Approx.unpacked weight: 885g. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK: £4.00. Airmal postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
