"101 of my Best Games of Chess" by F. D. Yates. Published in hardback by Printing Craft in 1934. First Edition. 182pp. Betts 29-154. The book is in Good overall condition for its age. The binding is strong and there is no shelf lean. The boards are clean although the gilt lettering on the spine has faded away. Internally there is a previous owner's name on the front endpaper but thereafter the book is inscription and annotation free. The page edge block has strongly tanned, from age and handling. The cosmetic faults with the book are mainly in the interior as several pages (mainly at the beginning and the rear) have light foxing and discolouration to note. A few pages have some discolouration to the page gutters (see scan). Found inside the book and included in this auction are 4 newspaper cuttings from the 1930s. Despite not being a perfect specimen of this title this is still an uncommon chess book that will grace any chess library. Games are given in English descriptive notation. No dustjacket. Any questions, please just ask. Further scanned images are available on request. Approx.unpacked weight is 350g. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
