Chapais. The Knight's Tour Resolved.
The Knight's Tour resolved by Chapais is translated into English by Harrie Grondijs. It consists of the two short chapters at the end of Chapais' Essais sur les Échecs about the Knight's Tour. The first of the two chapters is titled The Knight's Tour Problem Resolved and describes Chapais' original view on the subject matter. He develops an algorithm with which a complete series of Knight Tours from any square to any square may be produced (as demonstrated in one of the notes). The second chapter on the subject describes and criticizes Cosimo Collini's treatment of the subject. The translation is introduced by Harrie Grondijs with many notes. The book features a wealth of diagrams and figures.
