Two calendar years of "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield" for 1947 and 1948. Magazine issue numbers 136-159, inclusive. Part volume 12, the whole of volume 13 and part volume 14. A total of 631pp of brilliant chess news from the 1940s, including extensive coverage of the 1948 World Title Tournament. The volume is in Good Plus condition. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The page edge block has tanned from age only. There is no foxing or inscription in the volume. The main faults are historical, namely that the pages have browned from the poorer quality of paper available so soon after WW2 and also that all the magazines have the usual strong vertical crease down the middle from where they were posted, back in the day.
