Karpov - Korchnoi Candidates Final 1974 - original envelope with original chess postmark signed by Karpov, Korchnoi, Euwe, Geller, Flohr, O'Kelly, Furman, Ozolins and Kazic.
The role of signed persons in the match:
Anatoly Karpov - finalist
Viktor Korchnoi - finalist
Max Euwe - FIDE president
Bozidar Kazic - FIDE vice-president
Albéric O'Kelly - Chief Arbiter
Efim Geller - Karpov’s second
Semyon Furman - Karpov’s second
Viatcheslav Osnos - Korchnoi’s second
Salo Flohr - journalist
The match took place in Moscow from 16 September to 22 November 1974 and was narrowly won by Karpov +3−2=19. He qualified to challenge World Champion Bobby Fischer but the American refused to play under the given conditions and so Karpov became the 12th World Champion without a fight.
An interesting memory of an important part of chess history in the 1970s!
Condition - Very Good.
