Gouda, KOCH & KNUTTEL, 1895-1896. Private hardback binding, similar to publisher's binding, with Title and engravings embossed only in spine. 23,8 x 16,5 cm. In Dutch.
Pagination of the year 1895: Title page + 381 pages + 1 Photo Page with 3 portraits on glossy paper after page 140, without Index (as published. In the following Volume of the year 1896 the Joint Index was published, for the 2 years, 1895 and 1896).
Pagination of the year 1896: 272 pages. Missing Title page, VII Register pages (Joint Index for the 2 years, 1895 and 1896, as published), Steinitz Portrait and pages 273-284. ALL SUPPLIED as good double sided photocopies, and the portrait of Steinitz on photographic paper.
Very good: Ex-libris of its previous owner, the Italian collector Pellegrini, inside the front cover. Practically all the game numbers with a light pencil mark, easy to erase. Slight stain on the back cover, not very noticeable, although in the photo it is practically invisible in the light. If the year 1896 were complete, I would rate this 2-Year Volume (1895-1896) as excellent condition.
