"Ajedrez". Publicación argentina de ajedrez (the first 9 numbers), and later Revista argentina de ajedrez (from number 10). Año I. Numbers 1-15 (14 issues, since October is a double number 12-13). 1940.

Buenos Aires, Ajedrez Universal, 1940. Original softback edition. First 9 numbers published in a typical newspaper of that time, relatively fragile, and tending with the passage of time to a greater fragility and a general browning. Different measures. In Spanish. Please see below the complete and detailed description of the former owner of this magazine and its different formats.

Fair to good: Newspaper (numbers 1-9 with big format) in very fragile paper, with some tears on its edges. Affected by dust and use, an horizontal fold (very common in newspapers of this size), wrinkles with abrasions and foxing (mainly in covers). I have not wanted to open the newspapers to avoid mistreating them, so I have not checked if they have any writing, although the former owner described the lot as free of writing and underlined. The magazines in good condition, although with some stain on the covers. A valuable and extremely rare document, and with extreme care, in a decent and perfectly legible condition.

Very rare Argentinian magazine, which had an ephemeral life, publishing only the first year. A real shame, it really was a very nice magazine.

AJEDREZ PUBLICACIÓN ARGENTINA, biweekly in newspaper format 29x40,5 (numbers 1-5) and 32x45 cm (numbers 6-9), 8 pages each, numbers 1 to 9, April to August 1940. Old sale price 15 cents per copy . Administration Carlos A. Albarello, Nazca 5336, city of Buenos Aires. Directors Adolfo Avelleyra and Edmundo Mutti. Edition in Matanza 614, San Justo. Printed on newsprint, used with some abrasions and small tears at the edges, with a horizontal fold in the middle of the page. Full text, without marks or underlines.

AJEDREZ ARGENTINA MAGAZINE, CONTINUATION of the previous one in magazine format 16x22cm, numbers 10-15 (Fortnightly, September to December 1940). Used in good condition. The covers of issue 10 are affected by dust. The previous directors say goodbye with a message that appeared in the magazine number 10, page 6. Edited by Editorial Alce, without indicating the name of the director / editor. It says: direction, writing and administration in Terrero 851. Czerniak, Gromer, Ellerman collaborate in this stage.
