Anatoly Karpov & Aleksandr Roshal: Chess is My Life
Karpov describes in his own words his rise to the top of the Chess Ladder: World Junior Champion at 18 - Grandmaster at 19 and World Chess Champion at the age of 23. As well as biographical material, the book includes a large section of Karpov's first games, annotated by the Champion himself. It is well illustrated throughout, most of the photographs being previously unpublished. Karpov's co-author is A. Roshal, the well-known chess journalist and Secretary of the Soviet Chess Magazine, and the book has a foreword by Grandmaster Mikhail Tal.
