"The Anglo-Soviet Chess Match" by E.Klein and W.Winter. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman and Sons in 1947. First Edition. 119pp. Betts 26-5. The book is in Very Good condition, for its age. The internal pages are all very clean and unmarked but a little faded, from age only. The binding is tight. The boards are very clean apart from a single speck stain on the front board and a corresponding larger stain in the same site but on the dustjacket (see scans). The book is inscription and annotation free and has clearly been well cared for over the years. The page edge block is lightly tanned, again from age only. The publishers managed to acquire some semi-glossy paper for this volume and this has largely offset the page "browning" effect seen in so many chess books from just after WW2. The dustjacket is in Good Minus condition. It is nearly complete but has closed tears and chips to extremities (most notably, as usual, at the head and foot of the spine). The dustjacket also suffers from moderate scuffing and discolouration on the spine area. It has, however, protected the volume well over the years. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Quite scarce. Further scanned images are available on request. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK: £2.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
