C.J.S. Purdy - aerogram letter to ICCA tournament director Erik Larsson 9.5 1950.
Cecil John Seddon Purdy took part in the first World Correspondence Chess final. On 5 May 1950 he wrote an aerogram letter to the ICCA tournament director Erik Larsson, discussing the last part of his game in the semifinal against Louis Bigot. Purdy also reports that 13 of his games in the final have begun and discuss exchange of games scores and results with Chess World and other magazines.
Purdy later won the World Championship title.
