DESCRIPTION

Kira Zvorikina and Kveta Eretova during the match Soviet Union - Czechoslovakia in Moscow 1954. Size 17,5 x 11, 4 cm.

Kira Zvorikina (1919-2014) was three-time winner of the Woman Soviet Championship. In 1960 she played a match with reigning Woman World Champion Elizaveta Bykova for the title but lost.

Kveta Eretova (born 1926) is probably the most successful woman chess player in the history of Czechoslovakia although she started playing chess at the age of 23! She holds the title of WGM and is a ten-time winner of the Czechoslovak Women Chess Championship (1955, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1975, 1976, 1986). Even at her age, she is still active in chess. She plays chess on the internet and runs a chess circle in a nursing home in Prague.

Condition - Fair to Good: slighty torn on the left, corners wrinkled.
