DESCRIPTION

"MAX EISINGER 1909-1989"

By Harald Klingenberg (2005)

EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY LIMITED 2nd ED.

Klingenberg, Harald (Ed.): "MAX EISINGER 1909-1989". Herausgeber: Harald Klingenberg im Auftrag der Karlsruher Schachfreunde 1853 e.V. 1. Auflage 1996.

Karlsruhe, Karlsruher Schachfreunde 1853 e.V., (2005). Original hardback binding with Title gold print in spine. 1 Editor's Loose Sheet + 427 pages + 2 unnumbered pages (with 3 games with diagrams every 5 moves) + Anhang: 111 weitere Partien (12 unnumbered pages). 30 x 21,6 cm. In German.

Excellent: The quality of the paper is good, and the binding is excellent, and it is practically like new, with minimal speckled spots on the outer edges of the pages. Just mention the low quality of the Edition, with few diagrams slightly cut by the binding cut, as well as few passages with a rather poor photocopy quality making reading difficult (in 2 or 3 pages it is almost impossible). Although a huge amount of information, only available in this book, about a little known strong player. Regarding the Edition of very small circulation, I do not know the exact amount, although the seller told me that very few (perhaps a few dozen). Please see the enormous number of photographs after the description at the end to get an exact idea of the condition of the book and its defects.

A complete biography of the chess career of Max Eisinger, with all his available games (many more than those that appear in the databases). Much material on Max Eisinger available only with this book. The penalty, the Edition based on Photocopies, which on some pages has a very low quality.

In the 46 Klittich-Pfankuch Auction, June 2005 (lot 1258), a copy of the 1st Edition sold for a Total Price 196,88 EUR (including taxes).

Editor's Loose Sheet (translation):

"Note on the 2nd edition:

This edition was supplemented by 111 games; see Appendix. Due to a mistake, however, sites 45/46 are missing. The missing game of Eisinger-Heinrich from August 29, 1934 is, however, in the appendix under game no. 8 (Victoriano: it is actually game no. 5 of the Appendix). Page 46 was already unprinted in the original.

The above section with the historical commentaries is also included as a loose sheet.

You thus have a complete copy of the game collection."

Sorry for the, surely, poor Google translation, which appears in the previous link:

Max Eisinger 06/26/1909 - 04/24/1989

Max Eisinger not only shaped our club history for decades, but also embodied 55 years from his first participation in the main tournament of the Baden Chess Congress (Freiburg) in 1926 until his last appearance for the 1st team in the 2nd Bundesliga on February 8, 1981 Baden chess history.

Only a few years after joining the club on August 1, 1925, he was a divided club champion in 1928 and had already qualified for the Baden master class in 1927. In 1930 he won the Rhine Championship and in 1936 the German Correspondence Chess Championship. Between 1928 and 1973 he took part in the championship tournament 21 times and was Baden champion eleven times in 1934, 1937, 1939, 1947, 1948, 1951, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1967 and 1971. In 1946, 1952 and 1953 he took the second and 1973 the 2nd / 3rd. and third place in 1965. After the war he was seven times Baden cup champion. Nobody has copied this series until today.

He was club champion 25 times! He won the Karlsruhe city championship in 1934-36, 1946, 1952 and 1954. He also volunteered 19 times for international matches of the German Chess Federation. At the German level, Max Eisinger was involved in the championship 13 times from 1938 to 1972, with an excellent fifth place in 1949. For this achievement he was awarded the rank of "German Master". Mention should also be made of his mostly successful participation in the preliminary and candidate tournaments for the German championship, the Robert Rutz memorial tournament 1938/39, the international championship tournament in Marienbad in 1960 (shared 4th place) and the numerous appearances in team fights on the Baden level and for the 1st team.

For his tireless work on the chessboard and as a board member in our club and in the Baden Chess Association, Max Eisinger has received all possible awards. At national level he was for several years the representative of the master players in the Presidium of the German Chess Federation and in 1970 and 1974 captain of the German Olympic team in Siegen and Nice.
