Steinitz, Wilhelm: The Modern Chess Instructor. Part II. - Section I.
New York, published by W. Steinitz, Chess Syndicate, 1895. Orig. softcover. (6), VIII, 64 pages. Size 24 cm. In English. The weight 160 grams. LN 1059. Betts 14-6.
Poor (reading copy): covers are badly damaged, the front cover is detached from the book-block. Previous owner's signature dated 1895 on second blank page. There are a lot of pen or crayon notes throughout the book. Some leaves may be soiled or somewhat damaged at the edges. The original text is covered in about eight places by strips of paper, as shown in picture 5.
This Section I, which deals with Ponziani opening and Giuco Piano, is all that came out of the second part. The brochure was published in small edition and appears rarely.
