DESCRIPTION

Postcard written by Pal Rethy with scarce original chess postmark from the 6th Chess Olympiad which took place in Warsaw between 16 and 31 August 1935.

Pál Réthy (1905-1962) was Hungarian chess master. The Warsaw Chess Olympiad was the only chess olympiad he participated in as a player. Hungary finished in 4th place and his teammates were Lajos Steiner, Andor Lilienthal, Kornel Havasi and Laszlo Szabo.

In 1943 he published a book with a collection of his annotated games: Versenysakk (LN 3310).

The autograph of this Hungarian master and a member of the Hungarian Olympic team is very rare. At least I have not seen him in any of the collections of chess autographs on the internet. In connection with a rare postmark, it is a very attractive collector's item.

Condition - Good to Very Good.
