Bengt Ahlbom: Mästare i det mesta
In Swedish. Bengt Ahlbom [1904-1993] was a leading sport journalist and a devoted chess player.
I this memoir book he tells about Tjugofem förlorade schackår (25 lost chess years) in pages 17-22. 19 year old he got Ludvig Collijn's challenge trophy. He played correspondence chess but after that he took a time-out of almost 25 years. In 1946 he joined Stockholms Schacksällskap and got acquanted with Gideon Ståhlberg - also much interested in sports. Together with him he went as a reporter to Moscow in 1951, when Ståhlberg was the arbiter in the World Championship Match between Botvinnik and Bronstein. Still over 80 years old he was a very active correspondence chess player.
