A piece of nostalgia from the seminal chess summer of 1972. It's hard to believe now how chess captured the hearts and minds of the world's population back then, but it did. And just as the capitalist manufacturers dreamed up 'The Beatles' cereal bowls and other items in the 1960s, here we have "Championship Checkmate" as devised by Hoi Polloi Inc, based in NYC. The game scores were slid through a sleeve and the next moves are visible in small apertures. The idea being to have a board set up and to follow the games with the slide show. Seems archaic now but back in 1972, who knows how well they sold. Condition is VG. All games are present. Something for the Fischer/1972 devotee. Further scanned images are available on request.
