Svetozor 1878 (chess column only).
Praha, 1878. Free sheets disbound from a volume. In Czech. Large size ca 40 x 28 cm. Mokry 413, Whyld p.440. The weight 200 grams.
Still Good: some general wear, no major flaws.
Enclosed is also the title/index pages of the volume (these in Fair codition).
In this 12th volume was the chess column published in about every second issue, 23 columns in all (of 52 issues).
Also enclosed almost one full page long article Hra v sachy by Ferdinand Mencik (no.31, p.395) about a history of chess (the article was not part of regular chess column).
The volume ran from 04/01 to 28/12/1878. The column contains 21 problems numbered 551-571, this year with no games.
Editor in this volume Jan Dobrusky.
Svetozor was a weekly in Prague, published in 1867-1899. The chess column was published in 1868-1879 and 1883-1899, contains problems, games and news. (note: a weekly with the same name Svetozor, published in 1900-1943, is considered as a different magazine).
