"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, 1937". All twelve magazines issues for the calendar year of 1937 (Part of volume 2 and part of volume 3). Magazine numbers 17 - 28, inclusive. 460 large pages. This volume is in Very Good Plus condition for its age. The outer boards are very clean and the gilt lettering on the spine still shines. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The page edge blocks are clean. It is obvious that the volume has been well cared for over the years. Internally the pages are all very clean and inscription free. None of the internal pages have the dreaded vertical postal crease, so often seen with this magazine. There is no index present but a previous owner has gone to great efforts to type a 3pp 'Openings Index' for their own benefit and this has been neatly glued into the binding at the front (see scan). A beautiful book that will enhance any chess library. Further scanned images are available on request. Heavy! 'Signed For' postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £5.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
