DESCRIPTION

"The Book of the Nottingham International Chess Tournament, 1936" by Alexander Alekhine. Published in hardback by Printing Craft in 1937. First Edition. 291pp. Betts 25-123. The book is in Good Plus condition. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The book is free of foxing. The front board has some small white coloured staining and the gilt lettering on the spine has completely worn away (see scan). The page edge block is clean with just age related tanning and the occasional speck to note. The book is inscription free and the internal pages are all very clean. PLEASE NOTE: The dustjacket is a FACSIMILE of the David McKay (ie. US) first edition and only in Good Minus condition as the coloured part of the jacket is slightly too small for the book, resulting in a white border at the bottom edge (see scan). Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. 'Signed For' postage by Royal Mail within the UK: £5.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
