DESCRIPTION

"Strategy & Tactics in Chess" by Dr.Max Euwe. Published in hardback by Bell and Sons in 1937. First UK Edition. 172pp. Betts 19-10. SIGNED on the title page by both the author and GM Savielly Tartakower. The book is in Good condition. It has the feel of a book that has been well read. The binding is good although there is a mild shelf lean. The boards are a little discoloured and the page edge block has tanned from age and handling. Five internal pages have light, pencilled annotations. A couple of pages have a tiny speck stain  on them. The remaining pages are clean and unmarked. The signatures of Euwe and Tartakower are in ink. Oddly, they are very close together. Perhaps the previous owner intended filling the page with GM autographs. The dustjacket is also in Good condition. It has miniscule areas of loss to the tips and scuff markings. The spine area has faded and darkened. It is now protected by a quality 'Gaylord' removable see-through sleeve. Further scanned images are available on request. 'Signed For' postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £5.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
