DESCRIPTION

"The British Chess Magazine, 1960". Privately bound in black hardback. First Edition. Volume 80. 364pp. Includes index. Also bound in at the rear of the volume are the Nov and Dec 1959 issues of the BCM plus the BCM Index for the year 1959. Therefore, the total page count is 364+62=426pp. The volume is in Good Minus condition for its age. The binding is good although the gutter shows near the start of the volume. There is no shelf lean. The covers are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still bright. There is no foxing present. Internally the pages are clean and inscription free. The page edge block shows mild signs of handling. The main depredation with the volume is the poor quality of binding which has resulted in the page edge block being uneven as the magazines were inexpertly bound. The pastedowns on the inside of the front and rear boards were also inexpertly cut. A seminal chess year with the victory of Mikhail Tal in the World Championships. A good reading copy only. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
