DESCRIPTION

White Alain Campbell, Les Mille et un Mats Inverses, two volumes of Christmas series, Paris, Numa Preti, 1907. Original red hardcover with gold-embossed print on cover and spine. In French. LN 2581. Volume IV of the "Christmas Series".

Volume 1 - with a printed Christmas greeting by A. C. White, contains 1001 self-mate problems by various composers, 510 unnumbered pages.

Volume 2 - contains an introduction (in French, English and German), solutions, index of composers and chapter: "A List of Self-mate Problem Tourneys and Index of Prize Winners”, 231 pages.

Condition - Good or Better: cover a bit stained, the gold lettering partially blackened. A sticker in volume 1 with the number 7 on the first sheet and a stamp of the Chess Club Smíchov on the page with a printed Christmas greeting. Inside clean with no writings.
