DESCRIPTION

"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volume 8" edited by B.H. Wood. Privately bound in hardback with leather and raised bands along the spine. First Edition. 200pp. Magazine issue numbers 85 (Sept 1942) - 96 (Aug 1943), inclusive. Includes index. Betts 7-91. Condition is Good Plus, for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The boards have some light handling marks on the beige coloured area. There is also light scuffing to the spine and fading to the gilt lettering. The page edge blocks are clean. There is a small piece of loss to the Title/Index page (see scan). Internally the pages are clean and inscription free. They have the usual vertical crease but appear to have been well cared for over the years. The pages have tanned but that was due to the poorer quality of paper available during WW2. Games are in English descriptive notation. Scarce. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
