the 2nd World Student Team championship
Czechoslovak team at a stop in Paris

Good to very good: light/some general signs of use, some writings on the back
Persons in the photo, from the left: Miroslav Filip (1st board), Julius Kozma (at the back, 2nd board), Frantisek Blatny (1st reserve), Jiri Vesely (4th board), ???. Czechoslovak board no.3, Josef Marsalek, is not present.
Biographical data:
GM Miroslav Filip (1928-2009), the best Czechoslovak player in 1950s, one of world's best chess players around 1960, World Championship Candidate 1956 and 1962. Multiple Czechoslovak chess champion. He played in 12 olympiads
Julius Kozma (1929-2009), Slovak IM, one of the best Slovak players for years. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books.
Frantisek Blatny (1933-2015), Czech Master, Czechoslovak co-champion in 1964, father of GM Pavel Blatny.
Jiri Vesely (1932-2009), Czech master, member of Czechoslovak team, which won the first World Student championship in Oslo 1954 - Vesely scored 5,5 points of 7 games. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books, some of which became bestsellers. Germanist, Professor of the Charles University in Prague.
