DESCRIPTION

"A VÖRÖS METEOR SPORT-EGYESÜLET"

BUDAPEST 1955

COPY Nº 49 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 300!!

Cuibus, János (Ed.): "A Vörös Meteor Sport Egyesület. 1955. évi vegyes mesterversenye. Budapesten 1955. október 4-től november 8-ig".

Budapest, Vörös Meteor Sport Egyesület, 1955. Original softback edition. 43 typescript pages (including Title page) + Index of number of games + Cross-table + Openings Index. 28,9 x 21 cm. In Hungarian.

Copy No. 49 (in the middle of the lower margin of the front cover) of a Limited Edition of 300, dedicated to B. H. Wood, with the official stamp of the Vörös Meteor Sakk Szakosztály (Red Meteor Chess Division), and signed by Eugen (Jenő) Dalmadi, member of the Tournament Organization and strong Hungarian player (page 84 of "Chess Personalia"), as well as by the famous Chess writer and historian Árpád Földeák (his signature is identical to the one that appears at http://www.chessautographs.com/Data/php/ index1.php).

Good: The most important defect is the dirt (perhaps the remnant of an old water stain) on the upper margin of the front cover. The red spine is peeled off at the top of the back cover. Otherwise, normal defects such as a slight wrinkle, a small stain, but in general it is a copy in good condition of a Limited and Signed Edition and with an important pedigree.

Di Felice 408.1 (Chess Competitions 1824-1970).

Authentic rarity and collector's gem, with the 120 games of the Tournament, some with annotations. 1st Tapasztó; 2nd Honfi; 3rd Négyesy; 4th Tipary.

Very rare, extremely scarce and almost impossible to find!! In the 33 editions of the Klittich-Pfankuch Auktion that I know, 2003 November - 2006 June, and 2008 November - 2021 June, only 1 copy of this book was auctioned (November 2005 Auktion 47). Curiously, the copy auctioned in Klittich is the one I offer in this auction.
