Bound in contemporary brown half leather, spine is very rubbed (no lettering visible on spine), back inner hinge strengthened with tape, binding is still tight, foxing on endpapers. Coloured title-page, pp (2) contents, 420 (including index). Occasional small stains to margins otherwise internal condition is good. With a bookplate of the ECF, Diggle collection.
The foremost English chess periodical of the mid-19th century.
