DESCRIPTION

"Chessboard Magic!" by Irving Chernev. Published in hardback by Chess Review in 1943. Second Edition. 162pp. Betts 23-15. The book and its dustjacket are in Good Plus condition. The book's binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The page edge blocks are clean (a little dusty on the top edge). The book is free of foxing. There is a previous owner's name and date on the front endpaper and a shop sticker on the front pastedown. The gilt lettering on the spine and front board has dulled (see scan). Internally the book is very clean and unmarked. The paper quality available for books during WW2 was poor and the pages have dulled and lightly tanned as a consequence. PLEASE NOTE: The dustjacket is a COLOUR FACSIMILE only. It is very nearly complete with just nicks to the edges to note. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Uncommon. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
