DESCRIPTION

"The World Chess Championship Candidates Tournament, 1953" by B.H. Wood. Published in hardback by 'CHESS, Sutton Coldfield' in 1954. First Edition. 329pp. Betts 25-222. Originally published in monthly instalments in 'CHESS' magazine between Oct 1953 - Sept 1954. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The page edge blocks are a little tanned from age. Free of foxing apart from a few specks on the pastedowns and endpapers (see scans). The spine area has dulled appreciably but is still readable. The internal pages are all clean and inscription free apart from all having a mild vertical crease (see scans). The boards have dulled and have minor superficial marks, commensurate with age. They are not as bright in colour as the scans show. Published without a dustjacket. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
