"CHESS, Volume 2" edited by B.H.Wood. Published in hardback by "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield" in 1937. First Edition. In addition, the July and August issues of Vol 1 of "CHESS" are also bound in at the beginning, thus giving a total of 14 very early issues of this iconic chess magazine. 80pp + 462pp. No index. Magazine numbers 11-24 (July 1936 - Aug 1937), inclusive. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The page edge blocks are clean. As can be seen from the scanned images, there is ugly discolouration on both the front and rear boards and the gilt lettering is inaccurate as only 2 issues of Vol 1 are bound in. Internally the volume is in much better condition. The internal pages are all very clean and inscription and foxing free. They do NOT have the often seen vertical crease from having been in the post back in the day. Externally I would rate this volume as being in Fair condition but internally it's in Very Good condition, in my humble opinion. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Heavy! Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be substantially more - please ask me for details. Any questions, please just ask.
