Some issue covers are loose, one back cover is lacking, there are punch holes to margin of first 8 issues not affecting the text, staples are rusty. Internally good.
Includes many games with notes, problems and studies, articles for improvement by Znosko-Borovsky and Vera Menchik, editorial and social club news. The magazine of the Empire Social Chess Club formed in 1930 at Whiteleys department store in London, open to everyone at a nominal subscription. A scarce magazine. Betts 7-71.
