"The British Chess Magazine, 1948" edited by Julius du Mont. Published by the BCM in 1948. First Edition. 444pp. All 12 loose magazines for the calendar year of 1948 (Vol.68), in their original covers. All magazines are in Good overall condition, commensurate with their age. There are stains or scuffs on most of the covers and two of the magazines have "crawled around the staple" (shifted off their original position) a little, as magazines are inclined to do sometimes. Two magazines have a part address on the rear cover (see scans). Internally the magazines are all very clean and - mostly - inscription free apart from one issue with several pencilled entries in the margin (see scan). The pages have browned a little due to the poorer quality of paper available so soon after the war. The year index is stapled into the December issue. The staples have not rusted. Games and positions are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM CUSTOMERS IN THE EU AREA (and the USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX.
