British Chess Magazine 1893.
London 1893. Loose issues January-December + Christmas Number. VIII (=title, index) + 588 pages + 72 pages Christmas number + 8 plates. Size ca 21 cm. The weight 1,320 grams. LN 6135, Betts 7-27. In English.
Fair: missing back covers of February and December issues and both covers of the Christmas issue. All covers are very brittle, damaged and chipped at margins. The plates from January and December and the last leaf of the Christmas issue are damaged, with chips at margins. Otherwise some signs of use, text is OK, with almost no writings.
The plates are: Moriau / Gastineau / Kershaw / Watts (January); Rees / Brown / Blackburne / Owen / White (February); problem by James Rayner (March); Neish Walker (May); problem by K. Ansell (September); problem by E. N. Frankenstein (October); G. C. Heywood (December); problem by J. N. Babson (Christmas Number).
British Chess magazine has been published since 1881.
