London 1885-1886. Contemporary half-cloth, spine lettered. IV (=title, index) + 380 pages. Size ca 23.5 cm. The weight 820 grams. LN 6138, Betts 7-25. In English.
Fair to good: binding is somewhat cocked and somewhat worn. Previous owner's stamp on the front pastedown is overlaid with a paper label. Title page a little foxed, light/some foxing throughout the book. Internally sporadic pen notes, usually in the problem section.
Complete volume, 12 numbers including title and index. No plates were published this year, the covers are not bound in.
The Chess Monthly was published in London 1879-1896.
