DESCRIPTION

"Kings of the Chess Board" by Lajos Steiner. Published in hardback by Goldstein and Falconer in 1948. First Edition. 58pp. Betts 24-60. The book and its dustjacket are in Good Plus condition for their age. The binding is tight although the book has some shelf lean present. The book boards are clean, if a little faded. The page edge blocks are clean, although tanned from age. On the front endpaper is an old prize sticker but apart from this the volume is very clean and inscription free. The volume is also free of foxing. The dustjacket is a little ill-fitting and has miniscule loss to the head & tail of the spine and to three areas on the rear panel (see scans). The dustjacket has mild scuffing and is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Scarce in hardback with its dustjacket. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £2.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM CUSTOMERS IN THE EU AREA (and the USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (NB. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of the GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
