"Mikhail Tal's Best Games of Chess" by P. H. Clarke. Published in hardback by Bell and Sons in 1961. First Edition. 195pp. Betts 29-139. The book is in Good Minus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are very clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still bright. Internally the volume presents as one that has been quite well read in the past. The page edge block shows quite strong signs of age and handling (see scan). There are a few penned ticks at the start of games and the very occasional line or short comment in the margin (see scans). One double page has a small dried liquid stain (see scan). Very light foxing to the endpapers. 'CHESS, Sutton Coldfield' sticker on the front endpaper. The dustjacket is also in Good Minus condition. It is almost complete but suffers from short closed tears, discolouration and scuffing (see scans, note the stain at the bottom, left of the dustjacket's front panel). The head & tail of the spine have had neat camauflage repairs undertaken to very small areas of loss. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
