The Chess Monthly 1880/1881 Vol. II:
The Chess - Monthly. Edited by L. Hoffer & J. H. Zukertort. Volume II, September 1880-August 1881. London, Wade, 1880-1881. 8 °. With a lot of diagrams. IV, 380 pages. rown half leather binding with a label and rich gold plating on the spine. L/N 6138; Betts 7-25. With year title and index.
Rare and important chess magazine with a monthly overview of chess events from all over the world, chess articles, games, problems, endgames and book reviews. Nicely bound edition with marbled paper edges and endpapers.
Condition: Binding slightly bumped and with shelf wear. Former owner plate on first endpaper. Scraped back and slight defect on top. Browned inside. Otherwise inside nice and clean. Overall Assessment = Good to Very Good.
Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.
I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.
I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.
Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
