Berliner Schachzeitung 1896/1897 Vol. I+II complete:
Berliner Schachzeitung, edited by C. A. Walbrodt and J. Berger. Title page, Vol. I (No. 1 to No. 24 from April 1, 1896 to March 16, 1897), 420 pages. Vol. II (No. 1 to No. 18 from April 1, 1897 to December 16, 1897) 258 pages. Berlin, publisher Günther, 1896 - 1897. 8°. Each with diagrams. Quarter leather binding with gilt lettering on spine. L/N 6058; Kieler Schachkatalog 42.
Interesting chess magazine, which was only published two years and which later became part of the "Deutsche Wochenschach". It also contains the extra - issue No. 8a, another extra supplement to issue 16, which are counted in the pagination.
Rare chess magazine from the library of Viktor D. Baturinsky (1914-2002) He "was the Vice President of the USSR Chess Federation and former director of Moscow’s Chess Club. He headed up Karpov’s delegation from 1974 to 1984. He was a KGB Colonel." (information from Bill Wall http://billwall.phpwebhosting.com/articles/KGB.htm)
Condition: Binding with some wear, a small tear on upper hinge. Corners slightly bumped. Book edges dusty. Inside differently browned, partly stronger and occasionally stained. Few pages with tiny defects. Page 342 with small marginalia. Plate with Dr. Max Lange loose. Otherwise inside nice and clean. Overall Assessment = Still Very Good!
Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.
I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.
I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.
Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
