Victor Käfer was a lieutenant in the Austrian Army. Interesting edition that explains the mate, endgames, stalemate, openings, games and Knight tours. "His studies on the knight tour, however, deserves praise." (Schmid)

Condition: Uniformly bound. 40 Knight tour diagrams on 1 folded plate is missing. 2 plates with schemes and 1 further board with an illustrated chessboard on bluish paper are missing. Sligthly worn. Paper yellowed. Spotted. Pencilled notes inside. Stamps inside: Frantisek Moucka, Jan Dobrusky, Cesky spolek sachovni, Sachovni club Dobrusky.
