Signed by author on title page, with inscription to British composer Edward Boswell. One of the author's name cards is also attached (pasted on the Title Page, near the spine).

Good: Front cover has become unglued from spine, light edgewear at base of spine, contents clean other than author's inscription. Inside in good to very good condition.

The book contains 60 problems, mostly two-movers with a few three-movers, by the author, Brazilian chessplayer, editor and composer Joaquim Valladao Monteiro (1907-1993).

An unsolved "mystery" is the Author's date of birth, although it is true that several sites give October 15, 1907 as his date of birth.
