DESCRIPTION

"DEUTSCHES WOCHENSCHACH" 1912

 COMPLETE 28. JAHRGANG

Donation of Max Blümich to the German Federation!

Ranneforth, H. (Ed.), Ernst, G. (Ed.), and Karstedt, M. (Ed.): "Deutsches Wochenschach und Berliner Schachzeitung". 28. Jahrgang 1912.

Potsdam, A. Stein's Verlagsbuchhandlung, 1912. Original?? flexible illustrated cardboard edition with Title in front cover and spine. Title page + 502 pages (Index in pages 469-502) + 4 Portraits (La Bourdonnais after Title page, Die Anderssen-Feier, Leipzig 1877 after page 116, Meisterturnier zu Pistyan 1912 after page 212, and 1 painting of Chess players playing after page 352. On many occasions some are missing). 23 x 16,2. In German.

Good to very good: The most important defect is the somewhat flimsy binding, and especially its deterioration in the lower part of the spine that has some stains. Unrecognizable deed or signature of the former owner in the safeguard. At the top of the Title Page there is a code and the printed name of Max Blümich, and behind the Title Page there is also a stamp of the German Federation, as well as again the printed name of Max Blumich. Otherwise, inside in very good condition.

Linde - N. 6054; Di Felice 794; Kieler Schachkatalog 104.

Regarding the binding, perhaps it is an original binding, since the letters and symbols are the same as those of other original bindings, and the flexible material of this binding is very reminiscent of the 1914 book (very close in time) "PILLSBURY UND CHAROUSEK" (http://www.chesslund.com/detail.asp?id=13958).

It is almost certain that this magazine belonged to the great German player Max Blümich, and that he donated it to the German Chess Federation.
