Sachovy tyden 1937 + 1938 (incomplete).

Praha, 1937-1938. Contemporary binding, spines lettered. Volume 1 has 38 issues (of 41), volume 2 has 8 issues (of 38). Size 31 cm. The weight 1,020 grams. LN 5995, Soukup 14, Mokry 248. In Czech.

Following issues are present:

volume 1, 1937: numbers 1, 3-6, 8-31, 33-41 (pages 1-6, 11-32, 39-176, 183-238). The volume is almost complete, missing only numbers 2, 7, 32. Number 41 is the last issue of 1937.)
volume 2, 1938: numbers 1-4, 6-9 (pages 1-24, 31-54. The volume 1938 should have 38 issues, 216 pages)

Fair: bindings is worn, the rear outer joint with the spine is cracked up to two thirds of its length. Some pages may have fold marks. Old chess club stamp in text several times. Otherwise pages occasionally a little soiled or damaged, but nothing serious.

The magazine was published in newspaper form without covers from 25 April 1937 to 15 September 1938.

The Sachovy tyden is cosidered due to the quality of its content as one of the best Czech chess magazines ever. Some of its information cannot be found in other literature.

The Sachovy tyden is the only printed Czech chess weekly and appears seldom in the market. A prominent chess journalist Frantisek Fric, its editor and owner for the whole period, died in a concentration camp during World War II.
