"The British Chess Magazine, 1892". Published in dark blue hardback by Trubner & Co in 1892. First Edition. Vol 12. Betts 7-27. 552pp plus Index. The volume is in Good condition for its age. The binding is good but a little shaky. The volume gives the impression of having been unprofessionally bound as the gutter is exposed in a couple of places (see scan) and the page edge block is not level, having ridges where the binding is inadequately strong in order to keep the magazines in place. There is a mild shelf lean but no bowing present. The boards are clean. The gilt lettering on the spine reads: "British Chess Magazine 1892". Internally the volume is clean and appears to be inscription and annotation free. There is mild foxing and scuffing to the pastedowns and endpapers but the vast majority of internal pages are clean and presentable. The page edge blocks (particularly the top edge block) are heavily but evenly tanned from age. The boards tips have tiny areas of superficial loss. Printing error causing blurred images on pages 86-87 (see scan). Rare. 'Signed For' postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £5.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
