"The Art of Sacrifice in Chess" by Rudolf Spielmann. Published in hardback by Bell and Sons in 1935. First UK Edition. 216pp. Betts 19-6. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The binding is tight and the book stands straight with no bowing present. There is, however, a moderate shelf lean present. The boards are very clean with the gilt lettering on the spine still bright. The internal pages have tanned a little from age but are all inscription and annotation free. The book is free of foxing. The edge block does however have tanning, again from age only. The dustjacket is also in Very Good condition. It is complete but has faded slightly along the spine area and the top of the letters in the author's name have been worn away (see scans). The dustjacket is now protected by a superior 'Gaylord' removable see-through sleeve. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
