WERELDKAMPIOENSCHAP EUWE - ALJECHIN 1935

"OM DE HEERSCHAPPIJ IN HET RIJK VAN CAÏSSA"

SIGNED by EUWE!!

Scrapbook with clippings about the Match Euwe-Alekhine

A VERY RARE AND UNIQUE ITEM

Tartakower, Savielly and others: "OM DE HEERSCHAPPIJ IN HET RIJK VAN CAÏSSA". Wereldkampioenschap Euwe - Aljechin 1935.

Amsterdam, De Telegraaf (and maybe others?), 1935. Beautiful Scrapbook with 96 (maybe) unnumbered sheets with press clippings (including approximately 74 photos), almost all on both sides, and signed by Euwe on the Title Page under his photograph. 33,2 x 20,5 cm. In Dutch.

Fair to good: Binding in poor condition, with the covers very scuffed and worn, and the spine with breaks and very deteriorated. A new binding is recommended. Inside with some defects, although in good general condition. The 132 photos at the end serve as a detailed description: the entire content is photographed, and all major defects have been isolated and individually enlarged.

Below is a detailed description of the content and its condition (in red, when it is necessary to indicate something important):

Sheet 1: Title Page.

Sheet 2: The first clipping is dated Tuesday (Dinsdag) September 24, with a small pen annotation on the top edge.

Sheet 3: The 2nd is from September 26 (date on the cutout).

Sheet 4: The 3rd and 4th are from October 1 (date on the cutouts).

Sheets 5-11: The 5th is dated Wednesday (Woensdag) October 2, with a small pen annotation on the top edge. In addition, with this same date, there are another 6 clippings, with journalistic rubrics such as Tartakower, Schelfhout and Rueb.

Sheets 11-13: The 12th is October 3 (date on clipping). In addition, with this same date, there are 2 other cuts.

Sheets 13-19: The 15th is October 4 (date on clipping). In addition, with this same publication date, the analysis of the 1st game of the Match. At the top of page 15, the actual date of play of the game, October 3, is noted in ink. Game reviewed and COMPLETE. Below is a small clipping with the Match calendar, where October 6 appears as the date of the 2nd game. On Sheet 17 there is a clipping from October 3 (date on the clipping), although it may be a typographical error, since it mentions some move in the game, and it seems strange that it was published on the same day as the game.

Sheets 20-28: Cuttings from October 7. On Sheet 22, the 2nd game seems to be incomplete, as the right file ends at move 35. However, the continuation is behind the left file (near the spine), although unfortunately the 36th move is missing (perhaps by cutting the The front side did not see the former owner affecting the line on move 36. The missing moves are 36.Nd5! Kg7, however Black's comment on move 36 is present.

Sheets 28-30: Cuttings from October 8. Analysis of the 3rd game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 30-31: Clippings from October 9, including an interview with Capablanca.

Sheets 32-34: Cuttings from October 10. Analysis of the 4th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 34-36: Cuttings from October 12. Analysis of the 5th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 36-39: Cuttings from October 15 and 16. Analysis of the 6th game, revised and COMPLETE. On Sheet 38, at the top, there is a clipping from October 17 with Lasker's opinion. The bottom of Sheet 38 is the continuation of Sheet 37.

Sheets 39-42: Cuttings from October 17. Analysis of the 7th game, revised and COMPLETE. On Sheet 41 there is a clipping with the opinion of W. A. T. S. (Schelfhout).

Sheets 42-45: Cuttings from October 20 and 21. Analysis of the 8th game, revised and COMPLETE. On Sheet 43, on its back, in the right column (near the spine), there is an overlap of cutouts, although everything is correct and visible. On the back of Sheet 42, in the left column, there is a cut from October 18-19, since it mentions the Match Calendar from October 18.

Sheets 45-47: Cuttings from October 22 and 23. Analysis of the 9th game, revised and COMPLETE. On Sheet 47 there is a clipping with Lasker's opinion.

Sheets 47-49: Cuttings from October 24. Analysis of the 10th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 66-67: Clipping from November 12. Analysis of the 18th game, revised and COMPLETE. Sheets 66-67, formerly came to stick together in 2 small areas, and when peeled off they caused some staining and erosion of the paper, partially making reading difficult.

Sheets 67-69: Cuttings from November 14 and 15. Analysis of the 19th game, revised and COMPLETE. Sheets 67-68, formerly came to stick together in 2 small areas, and when peeled off they caused some staining and erosion of the paper, partially making reading difficult. Between sheets 68-69 a sheet was torn off: perhaps a clipping is missing or the previous owner made a mistake and decided to tear it off.

Sheets 69-71: Cuttings from November 16. Analysis of the 20th game, revised and COMPLETE. Sheets 70-71, formerly came to be stuck in 1 median zone, and when they were detached they caused some staining and erosion of the paper, partially making reading difficult. Also on the front of Sheet 70, the left column has similar problems, although the text can be read with some ease. There is a loose clipping from November 19th, torn at the bottom, unfortunately missing about a couple of lines.

Sheets 71-74: Cuttings from November 20. Analysis of the 21st game, revised and COMPLETE. On Sheets 72 and 74, 4 columns have their bottom edge slightly broken, with a small piece of text missing.

Sheets 76-78: Cuttings from November 26. Analysis of the 23rd game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 78-79: Cut from November 28. Analysis of the 24th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 79-82: Clippings from December 1. Analysis of the 25th game, revised and COMPLETE. On the back of Sheet 80, at the bottom, both columns are overlapping, obscuring some of the text, but it is possible to see it by folding the column above it.

Sheets 82-85: Cuttings from December 3. Analysis of the 26th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 85-87: Cuttings from December 6 and 7. Analysis of the 27th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 87-91: Cuttings from December 8 and 9. Analysis of the 28th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Sheets 91-96: Cuttings from December 8 and 9. Analysis of the 29th game, revised and COMPLETE.

Unfortunately, there is no cut from the 30th (last) game.

Loose clipping of the Closing Ceremony, with the coronation of Euwe as the new World Champion.
