"R.P. Michell - A Master of British Chess" by Julius du Mont. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman and Sons in 1947. First Edition. 108pp. Betts 29-76. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight although there is a mild shelf lean present. The boards are very clean. The internal pages are clean and annotation free although the book previously belonged to the Dublin (Ireland) Chess Club and there are a few stamps on the pastedowns, endpapers and two pages in the volume to reflect this (see scans). The page edge blocks are evenly tanned from age. The book is free of foxing. The (scarce) dustjacket is in Good condition. It is complete although there have been neat cosmetic repairs done to the head and tail of the spine where colour facsimile paper of another dustjacket has been securely added (see scans). The dustjacket has browned along the spine area and has a closed tear to the bottom of the front panel (see scan). Despite these depredations the dustjacket for this book is hard to find in my experience. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are in English descriptive notation. Scarce. Further scanned images are available on request. 'Signed For' postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
