DESCRIPTION

"Chess Review, 1946 (Vol 14)" edited by Isaac Horowitz and Kenneth Harkness. Published in red hardback by the editors in 1946. First Edition. Betts 7-76. Approx. 400 large pages. Includes index. All ten (June/July and Aug/Sept were double issues) magazines for the calendar year of 1946. The volume is in Good condition for its age. The boards are reasonably clean although there is sunning evident on the spine area and a superficial scratch mark on the front board (see scans). No dustjacket. The binding is good but the hinge feels a little shaky as though it has landed on a hard surface in the past. There is no shelf lean or bowing present. Internally the volume has some notes added to the front endpaper by a previous owner and the internal pages have browned a little from age. Otherwise the volume appears to be inscription, annotation and foxing free. Covers bound in. The page edge blocks are evenly tanned from age. Further scanned images are available on request. Heavy. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
