The Hastings 46th. International Chess Congress opened today. Approximately 250 players from all parts of the world will be competing.
KEYSTONE PHOTO SHOWS : LAJOS PORTISCH (Hungary), on right, who won first prize outright last year - pictured in a practise game with ROBERT BYRNE (U.S.A.), at Hastings today. They are both in the Premier Section.
