"DEUTSCHE SCHACHBLÄTTER" 1930-1931

1930 - 19. JAHRGANG: Title page + Frontispiece (group picture) + 384 pages with Index in pages 376-384.
1931 - 20. JAHRGANG: Title page + 396 pages with Index in pages 388-396. Never before (some time ago I had a copy of Year 1931) had I noticed a curious detail: after the Title page, number 1 starts on page 3, so it seems that in 1931 the Title page was "paginated" and actually "was pages 1-2". For greater certainty, I have looked in the Index to see if there was any reference on pages 1-2, and the result has been negative. If pages 1-2 were part of number 1, there would be some reference in the Index.
Very good: There are only 3 small defects, worth mentioning: some very small break in the central part, next to the spine, of very few pages, product of the binding stitching, a slight tear at the bottom between the back cover and the spine, and the somewhat tight binding cut of the pages, which has caused that in 4 pages there is a minimum partial loss of text of a line. The list of the 4 affected pages (see photos): page 94 of 1930 (last line, which is maybe "zugen bei Dreizügern Angabe der beiden ersten Züge usw."), page 166 of 1931 (last line of the left column, which is "lichen Laüfers kein Matt. Aus die-", and of the right column, which is maybe "Tc8 operierende Drohung kommt"), page 200 of 1931 (last line, impossible for me to guess its text), and page 215 of 1931 (last line of the left column, impossible for me to guess its text, and of the right column, which is "2. Db5 axb3 3. Dc4 b2‡"). A slight scratch on the spine, which in the photo, due to the effect of light, looks much whiter than it really is. Nevertheless, a pleasant copy in the hands.
