EXTREMELY RARE
Schlesinger, W.: "Beiträge zum unterricht im Schachspiel" von W. S. Einem Oesterreicher. After Title page: Des Arabers Philipp Stamma Schachspiel-Geheimnisse. Das ist dessen hundert Spielendungen neu herausgegeben und mit Anmerkungen, Verbesserungen, und Zusätzen zum Unterricht für minder geübte Schachspieler versehen von W. S. Einem Oesterreicher.
Preßburg (present-day Bratislava), Georg Alons Belnay, 1804. Private softback binding (perhaps the gray "covers" are the safeguards of an old hardcover binding that was lost). 211 pages (including Title page) + Errata sheet. 18,3 x 11,8 cm. In German.
Good: Binding somewhat dusty and wrinkled with slight tears. On the title page there is a number (No. 6332, probably stamped), and a tear with missing (not affecting the text). Everything seems to indicate that the book belonged to a library, and that the tear is due to someone tearing off a label (or similar). Inside slightly browned and stained. Honestly, considering the light paper type, I think the book is in very good condition to look for a nice binding, especially considering the Rarity we have on our hands.

Schlesinger a bola vytlačená vo firme G. A. Belnaya v Bratislave (samozrejme s vtedajším názvom Pressburg, resp. zrejme omylom Prefsburg). Stalo sa to pred 216 rokmi..."

There is a "2nd" edition of this book (L/N 431), exactly the same (211 pages + Errata), published in 1806 in Vienna: Des Arabers Philipp Stamma Schachspiel - Geheimnisse. Das ist dessen hundert Spiel - Endungen. Neu herausgegeben und mit Anmerkungen, Verbesserungen, und Zusätzen zum Unterricht für minder geübte Schachspieler versehen von W. S., einem Oesterreicher. Wien, Georg Binz, 1806. Lot 609 of Auction 80 (June 2021) from Klittich-Pfankuch. This copy, without being the "1st" edition of 1804, and missing the Errata sheet, was sold for 1.100 EUR + taxes!!
Never in my life have I seen this book ("1st" Ed.) up for auction. In the 34 editions of the Klittich-Pfankuch Auktion that I know, 2003 November - 2006 June, and 2008 November - 2021 November, a copy of this book was never auctioned.
And the copy of my auction is the "1st" Edition of 1804, first chess book published in the territory of the present Slovakia, and the Errata sheet is also present!!
