Sissa 1871/1872.
Later/recent cloth, spine lettered. (4) = halftitle, title for 1872, title for 1871, pages (3)-384. Size ca 25 cm. The weight 620 grams. LN 6199. Di Felice 2452. In Dutch.
Fair: handwritten 1872 on spine. Halftitle, title and first few leaves are cut at the spine, so they are starting to come loose from the binding. The second title page is detached from the book-block, torn and chipped around edges (picture 3). It contains an old library stamp of the Cleveland Public Library, dated Sept 1886. The same stamp appears on pages 25, 32, and 51. The sheet with pages 3/4 is separated from the book-block but everything is complete. Other signs of use, a few leaves are well repaired with paper tape around the edges. Some leaves have small traces of vertical center fold, text with no writings.
The book does contain old library stamps, but the bookbinder's notes in pencil ("two hours of repair work") on the halftitle are in Czech. The binding comes probably from the 1950s-70s. It is therefore possible that only some of the numbers come from the library. By the way, the magazine comes from the library of collector and problem composer Ilja Mikan, but there is no proof of this.
Complete volume, 12 numbers including halftitle and two title pages, index not issued. No plates were published this year, the covers are not bound in.
